Objectives

What we wanted to achieve in setting up this project was to enable all the young people who make up the project (given that it was set up by young people for young people) to gain not only professional experience, but also broader relational and personal experience, through a creative, participative and inclusive project dealing with the topical subject of environmental protection. What's more, for all the participants in the project, apart from Eurasia Net, this was the first European project. In this sense, one of the main objectives was to enable all the young people involved in the project to acquire additional knowledge about setting up European projects. Finally, we also wanted to use the project to provide the young people involved in the project, as well as the general public, with significant skills and know-how in the field of ecology, through the conception, the production, the editing et the broadcasting of a documentary. More broadly and in general terms, the objectives announced and met were as follows: 1. Highlight the actions and commitment of young people from different backgrounds (disabled and underprivileged) to environmental protection, and involve them in a large-scale participatory project; 2. Promote and raise the profile of environmental protection initiatives undertaken by local associations, public authorities (at local and European level) and scientists; 3. To train young people in audiovisual production and project management, while promoting social inclusion; 4. Combine actions and create a common reflection by public authorities, young people, associations and scientists during participative writing workshops (meetings-debates), particularly around the question of individual and collective actions to protect the environment; 5. To provide young people with the tools and a network to get involved in the environmental cause, and to become true multipliers and ambassadors of the values conveyed by the project; 6. To have a significant impact in terms of awareness-raising and engagement with young middle and high school students and a wider public in the metropolitan area when the medium-length film is screened and discussed in schools, cinemas and on social networks; 7. Enable people sensitized by the project to change their daily practices, to enable more eco-responsible individual and collective lifestyles; 8. Develop a creative spirit and an interest in setting up projects among those made aware of the project; 9. Contribute to the economic development and expansion of the businesses at the heart of the project in terms of employment and areas of activity; 10. Produce a documentary of high artistic and content quality that addresses major issues and contributes to changing attitudes towards environmental protection. For us, all these objectives have been achieved, and we will describe in the following sections to what extent.
