Objectives

The key objectives of the project were to: - Raise awareness among young people regarding their rights, the importance of human rights, and the need for social inclusion. - Empower youth—especially from vulnerable backgrounds such as migrants, refugees, and NEETs—to become active participants in their communities and in democratic processes. - Facilitate intercultural exchange and personal development by providing varied educational opportunities (e.g., international training, local workshops, youth conferences) that enhance their knowledge of EU values and human rights. - Develop innovative tools and materials (an e-booklet of best practices and a non-formal education toolkit) to support ongoing learning and to serve as accessible resources for both young people and youth workers. These objectives were designed to directly tackle the challenges of exclusion and limited access to quality education and civic engagement, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and cohesive community.

Background

The proposal was developed in response to clear gaps in young people’s access to quality education and civic engagement—especially for those from vulnerable or marginalized backgrounds such as migrants, refugees (notably Ukrainian refugees), NEETs, and youth facing economic or educational disadvantages. The project was applied for to address critical needs in raising awareness on human rights, fostering active participation in democratic life, and enhancing social inclusion. It aims to empower young people by providing educational opportunities, developing innovative tools (including an e-booklet and a non-formal education toolkit), and facilitating intercultural exchange through activities such as international training, workshops, and a youth conference. This approach directly meets the need to integrate disadvantaged groups into society and to promote EU values in the face of contemporary challenges, including the destabilizing effects of migration crises and conflicts.
