DIS Abilities aimed, through cooperation between the health and social and youth sectors, to facilitate access to Erasmus+ Youth and Sport programmes for young people with disabilities by: - training health and social professionals in project management skills; - acculturating the health and social sector to transnational cooperation; - supporting youth organisations in offering inclusive activities; - improving the quality and accessibility of Erasmus+ Youth programmes; - fostering engagement.
The consortium applied on the basis of a lack of cross-sector skills between the youth and health and social sectors in favour of inclusive mobility. The need therefore focused mainly on improving skills in the youth sector on disability and in the health and social sector on European project management. DIS Abilities responded both to a bottom-up approach by supporting organisations on the ground so that they could integrate and become part of a partnership and collaborative dynamic, and to a top-down approach by proposing improvements to the Erasmus+ Youth common law system to make it more accessible.
