Objectives

By implementing this project, we aimed to enhance youth engagement in both learning and eco-activism, while improving access to high-quality educational opportunities and strengthening the capacity of youth workers to deliver them. The project introduced eco-activism into the work of youth organisations, inspiring and equipping young people to become active climate advocates. It created a collaborative hub for climate actions, fostering connections between youth, organisations, and communities. Tangible results include comprehensive toolkits and guides on eco-activism and political participation, as well as an online platform enabling young people to establish and manage their own youth-led NGOs. These outputs met the overarching objectives but also provided long-term resources that will continue to empower young people in climate action. More specific targets and outcomes linked to each work package are detailed in the relevant sections of this report.

Background

We applied for the YEAEU project in response to the urgent need to engage young people more actively in addressing the climate crisis. While awareness of climate change is growing, many young individuals lack access to practical tools, structured guidance, and opportunities to translate their concerns into tangible action. This project addresses these needs by equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to initiate change at local, national, and European levels. Through targeted training and mentorship, it empowered young people to conceptualise and develop their own social enterprises focused on climate solutions, fostering both environmental and social impact. We wanted to promote youth-led activism as a driver for wider community engagement, inspiring peers to participate in climate action.
