This project was designed to enhance the international dimension of University North by expanding mobility opportunities for students and staff within the Erasmus+ framework. The overarching goal was to promote cross-border cooperation, encourage personal and academic growth, and develop key competencies needed in a globalised environment. By participating in international mobility, students had the opportunity to broaden their horizons, strengthen their language skills, and gain valuable intercultural experience. These exchanges were structured to foster greater independence, adaptability, and practical skills relevant to future employment. The project aimed not only to improve academic outcomes but also to support the transition from education to the labour market by equipping students with real-world experience and global perspectives. Recognising the importance of equity and inclusion, the university placed special emphasis on short-term mobility formats to accommodate students who may face economic or social barriers to participation. These shorter exchanges were particularly suited to increasing accessibility for participants with fewer opportunities. Comprehensive information was provided about available financial support measures, including top-up funding for green travel initiatives and targeted grants for underrepresented groups. Beyond mobility itself, the institution implemented several outreach and engagement activities to reinforce the Erasmus+ message. Among these was the organisation of the International Week at University North - an initiative that brought together domestic and international participants through interactive events, thematic workshops, and dialogue sessions. These events served as a platform to promote international learning, showcase mobility success stories, and inspire broader involvement among both students and staff. For staff members, the project enabled international knowledge-sharing and capacity-building through professional exchanges. Teaching and administrative personnel engaged in collaborations with partner institutions abroad, gaining exposure to new methodologies and practices. These experiences supported staff development, boosted motivation, and contributed to improved academic and organisational performance back at the home institution. In line with University North’s sustainability agenda, the project actively encouraged environmentally responsible mobility practices. Participants were informed and incentivised to choose eco-conscious travel options, contributing to broader institutional efforts towards sustainability and climate responsibility in international education. Overall, the project achieved strong results in line with its objectives. It increased participation in mobility programmes, reduced barriers for disadvantaged groups, and reinforced international networks and institutional capacities. The long-term benefits were evident not only at the individual level but also in the university’s strategic growth, innovation potential, and international profile. Through this initiative, University North reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive, high-quality, and globally engaged higher education.
