The participation in the Erasmus+ programme strongly contributes to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the University of Zagreb (UNIZG) internationalisation strategy and its integration into the European Research Area and the European Higher Education Area. Due to national constraints in funding higher education and research, for many UNIZG faculties the Erasmus+ and Horizon programmes are now the main instruments for fostering internationalisation. UNIZG aims to motivate a larger number of domestic and foreign students and staff to engage in internationalisation. Cooperation with our partners and the realised mobilities act as a tool in integrating international and intercultural dimension into our institution and in our own study programmes. We envisioned a project impact that would provide valuable opportunities for our students and staff for excelling in studies, teaching and work and as members of our society, as well as for our faculties/academies. As part of the university alliance UNIC, https://www.unic.eu/en, UNIZG aims to achieve additional mobility numbers. Based on the interest of our faculties/academies for BIPs, we also launched this new Erasmus+ activity in the 1st project year of the KA131. Through this project, we also opened possibilities of cooperation with HEIs from third countries not associated to the Programme (International Opening).
