This project enabled the continuation of the implementation of the accreditation strategy and contributed to the reduction of obstacles faced by young people, the development of their competencies, and enabled the development of the youth sector by raising the competencies of youth workers, thus increasing the capacity of youth organisations across the European Union. Due to the low involvement of young people in the social, cultural, and democratic life of the community, lack of social, cultural, and voluntary activities for young people, lack of opportunity to develop creativity of young people, rise in prejudices towards different worldviews, ideas, and activities, and the weak knowledge of different identities and cultural heritage, there was a strong need to involve young people from the different cultural and social backgrounds in the development and implementation of the youth exchange programs, which contributed to reaching our first objective of the accreditation and this project: Encourage young people to develop key competencies. Preparatory visits together with youth exchanges aimed at improving the active participation of young people, especially young people with fewer opportunities and from rural areas, which is fundamental for developing citizenship competence. Moreover, it aimed at social inclusion, especially for youth with fewer opportunities, by providing opportunities for social and cultural activities, getting to know different cultures and identities, developing creativity, and opportunities for active participation and involvement in the cultural and social life of the community. Their active participation enabled the development of key competencies such as citizenship competence, Personal, social, and learning-to-learn competence, Competence in cultural awareness and expression, Literacy competence, and Entrepreneurship competence. Our accreditation strategy detected that youth organisations face a lack of operational and financial capacities. Their staff, active members, and volunteers are not qualified enough (lack of quality in youth work) or do not have enough practical experience in youth work it is difficult to keep up with challenges in everyday work, and they do not adopt new work methods. They need the added value of international cooperation and networking with experienced organisations, not only to raise the level of quality of youth work but also to encourage the involvement of young people in decision-making and policies concerning young people at the local and national levels. Partners at the local, national, and European levels have difficulties designing activities attractive to young people, and they need new methods of working with youth with fewer opportunities to more successfully involve them in activities. To address that, we organized training courses aiming to share knowledge and skills among experienced and less experienced youth workers and educate youth workers, staff, and active members of partner organizations for better work with young people in the context of encouraging the development of citizenship competences, personal, social and learning to learn competences, competence in cultural awareness and expression, entrepreneurial and digital competences. Emphasis was on improving existing, learning about new, and adopting non-formal methods of working with youth, especially with those youth with fewer opportunities, which contributed to reaching our 2nd objective of the accreditation and this project: Raising the quality of work of partner organisations with youth with fewer opportunities. By implementing training courses, we increased the quality of youth work of partner organisations, especially for youth with fewer opportunities. Additionally, partnership-building activity was organised to enable meetings, getting to know, and networking with organisations we had no prior contact with, but that share similar goals and work with and for youth. This approach actively involved youth in the process and had a focus on raising the quality of youth mobilities by involving youth in all phases of the project preparation and implementation.
