Objectives

During this accreditation period (2023 and 2024), we aimed to empower both young people and youth workers, with a particular focus on including young people with fewer opportunities. Through two youth exchanges and two training courses, we directly contributed to the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme. We increased inclusiveness by involving youth from vulnerable backgrounds and supported their emotional development through methods involving movement, nature and reflection. Youth workers developed concrete workshops during the trainings, which they are already implementing in their local communities. Young participants were actively involved in content creation, dissemination activities, and promotion of the Erasmus+ programme. The first objective focused on training youth workers to use sport, movement and creative methods in their work with young people, especially those from vulnerable groups (e.g. youth from low socio-economic backgrounds, alternative care, migrant backgrounds, rural areas, etc.). Through the training courses "Mindful Motion" and "Empowering through Connection", a total of 49 youth workers from Programme and Partner countries gained knowledge and tools to apply innovative and holistic methods in youth work. The trainings combined theory and experiential learning, with a focus on emotional literacy, resilience, authentic communication, and building trust-based relationships. Participants developed new sets of workshops which they are already applying in their communities, using approaches that are effective in reaching young people who are harder to engage through traditional methods. The second objective was to empower young people themselves through active participation, experiential learning and international cooperation. Through the youth exchanges "Motion to Release Emotion" and "Wilderness Bond", we engaged 62 participants (including group leaders), more than half of whom were young people with fewer opportunities. Using movement, time in nature, mindfulness, and group reflection, the young participants developed emotional, communication and social skills, as well as self-confidence, a sense of belonging and solidarity. The programmes included all phases: preparation, participation, and dissemination with the support of partner organisations. The young people contributed actively to the content and expressed motivation to continue their involvement in volunteering and community initiatives. Throughout this accreditation period, we achieved impact on a personal, professional and social level. Youth workers gained concrete tools to improve the quality of youth work – particularly through strengthening their own capacities, resilience and self-awareness. Young people, on the other hand, developed essential life skills for today's challenging world, with a strong focus on using the body as a tool for resilience and enhancing presence in relationships and with themselves.
