Objectives

The primary aim of our project was to empower youth workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to help young people develop media literacy and combat the effects of fake news. Given the pervasive influence of media on youth, it was crucial to equip youth workers with tools to foster critical thinking and media literacy among young people. Here are the specific objectives and what we aimed to achieve through the implementation of this project: 1. Train 24 youth workers with the necessary knowledge and skills to work with young people how to identify, differentiate, and combat fake news. 2. Provide youth workers with access to at least 20 non-formal methods of work to help them in their work with youth. 3. Create a platform with at least 20 resources, such as articles, videos, podcasts, and other materials, to help youth workers spread media literacy and awareness of fake news 4. Create a non-formal network of 30 local organizations and institutions working together to share resources, knowledge, and experiences. 5. Raise awareness of the need to work with youth to understand the effects of fake news and its potential to damage trust in public discourse
