Objectives

Objectives of this project were: - To have “all in one” training to create highly competent group leders - To strengthen the capacities of each partner organization involved - To build up and strengthen the capacities of our network - To raise the quality of support provided to young people in terms of leaderships, especially in international youth exchanges - To raise the overall quality of youth work at local levels and at international level By implementing this project, we wanted to achieve following: - To create a new generation of quality group leaders - To fully train group leaders so they can plan, implement and follow up on any situation - To empower group leaders so they can empower young people and support them adequately - To increase the quality of future common youth exchanges and enhance cooperation among partners - To increase the capacities of partner organizations This project has been developed based on the need to create a new generation of quality group leaders who can support young people both in local communities and especially during Erasmus+ youth exchanges. Through this training we contributed to training of 32 new group leaders from 8 countries who are now taking actions through their daily work as well through international projects their organizations are part of. Since project was created for newcomers or those with less experienced, in first two days participants got a chance to exchange views and experiences and learn about the context in which youth projects happen, who is making the team and what are their responsibilities. This was supposed to raise the awareness of participants that they are not alone in this and that there is (or at least there should be) a large team of organizations and individuals to support them (their organization, partner organizations, other group leders, coordinators etc.). After setting the ground and assuring participants understand the context, in groups participants were creating a certain guideline, separately for each stage of the project, to be fully aware on what is happening in every step, what are potential risks and what needs to be done so that young people they lead have all they need. As planned, participants also got valuable knowledge on how to work with mixed ability groups and to meet needs of young people with fewer opportunities and how to assure safety and protection of participants.
