The implementation of the "CPR: Cultivating a Positive and Resilient Mental Health Environment in the European Youth Sector" project aimed to address the critical need for better mental health and wellness among young people. Recognizing the significant challenges faced by today's youth, including the rise in mental health issues and youth suicide exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, the project sought to provide crucial support and resources to young people. The primary objectives of the project were: Promote Positive Mental Health: To treat mental health as a positive resource and a skill that can be taught, learned, supported, and strengthened by youth workers. Equip Youth Workers with Tools and Skills: To develop competencies among youth workers in using non-formal education methods to promote the mental health of young people. This includes training youth workers to respond effectively to mental health emergencies, conduct prevention and early intervention programs, and make referrals to mental health professionals. Foster a Supportive Environment: To create a welcoming atmosphere where young people can develop positive interactions with adults and peers, practice social and emotional skills, and ultimately handle contemporary challenges effectively. Enhance Understanding and Awareness: To increase the knowledge and understanding of mental health among youth workers, ensuring they can raise concerns, provide support, and find necessary help for young people in need. Strengthen Youth Organizations: To plan and develop youth organizations that support the mental well-being of young people, ensuring that these organizations can respond to the growing prevalence of mental health issues. Encourage Multidisciplinary Collaboration: To improve collaboration between various specialists and resources, working in multidisciplinary teams to aid struggling youth or prevent the development of mental health problems. Overall, the project intended to fill a gap in non-formal educational opportunities related to positive mental health, ensuring that youth workers are equipped to provide basic support and promote the well-being of young people effectively.
