Objectives

The specific goals we aimed to achieve through the implementation of the project are: 1. To improve the competencies of educators and staff in adult education for more effective teaching on green topics, with an emphasis on waste management. 2. To create learning opportunities for adult learners in the fields of waste management and green topics, as well as the issues of environmental protection, including ways in which they, as individuals, can contribute daily to solving these problems. 3. To develop innovative educational resources on green topics – a methodological manual, curriculum, and a digital educational-informative tool for waste sorting – which will be publicly available for use by educators, adult learners, and other interested parties. 4. To raise awareness about green topics and promote sustainable practices in the field of waste management and green topics in general. 5. To encourage cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience on green topics and waste management through cross-sectoral collaboration among partners from three countries, supported by practical examples such as study visits to local waste management facilities during transnational meetings.

Background

The main motivation of the project was to contribute to global efforts in addressing environmental protection and combating climate change through the development of educational materials, sharing knowledge and experience, and raising general awareness about green topics. The project dealt with multiple aspects of environmental education, with an emphasis on waste management, environmental protection, green skills, energy and resource savings, and climate change. By collaborating among three educational institutions in the field of adult education and a public waste management company, a high-quality exchange of knowledge, experience, and practices on green topics was enabled, particularly focusing on waste management and environmental protection, thereby producing quality project outcomes. The project focused on the need to improve the competencies of educators and staff in adult education for more effective teaching on green topics. Additionally, it addressed the need to create learning opportunities and possibilities for adult learners in the areas of waste management and green topics. By disseminating the project results, alongside educators and adult learners, we also aimed to promote general awareness about green topics.
