By implementing the ABOUT GREEN project, we wanted to achieve several key goals. First, to create a manual that brings together the knowledge of partner organizations and establish a digital platform for online courses on sustainable construction, the use of recycled materials and renewable energy sources. The goal is to educate teachers, students, small and medium-sized enterprises and the general public about green construction and renewable energy sources. The project seeks to improve teachers' knowledge of ecology, sustainable construction and the use of recycled materials, and to support teachers in acquiring new skills. By creating a digital platform, access to knowledge will be made available to all interested parties. The manual will be adapted and translated into the languages of the partner organizations, including English. International cooperation between Croatian and Dutch teachers will enable the exchange of knowledge and experience, and the development of innovative approaches to teaching students. The project will result in training staff to teach sustainable construction and the use of renewable energy sources, and increasing the possibility of participating in larger and more complex projects.
We have applied for the ABOUT GREEN project to educate teachers on the techniques of building miniature self-sustaining houses using recycled or ecological materials, and on the application of renewable energy sources and new technologies in installations. The project aims to adapt vocational education to the needs of the labor market, teach green skills and facilitate the transition to a climate-neutral economy. The exchange of knowledge between partner organizations and the development of a digital platform will enable teachers to acquire new skills and competences. The project addresses environmental and economic challenges, including climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, poverty, disruption of the natural balance and changes in the environment. The project also responds to the need for environmental awareness and education on biological and ecological topics. Croatia has a high rate of youth unemployment, and the mismatch of educational programs with labor market needs increases the risk of educational failure. The project aims to help the local community, especially after the earthquake in Sisak-Moslavina County, by building miniature sustainable houses that are environmentally friendly and cheaper.
