The Project has made a significant contribution to achieving the goals set out in our Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021–2027 application, both by further strengthening the internationalisation of the university and by enhancing its international recognition and visibility. Outgoing student, teaching, and staff mobilities for training purposes increased by nearly 50% compared to the previous project. This was primarily made possible by the additional funding received. At the same time, during this period, promoting the programme for the sake of the University’s internationalisation continued to be a priority. The mobility activities implemented across the various categories have greatly contributed to developing our students’ professional competences, strengthening quality and innovation in our teaching activities, as well as improving the professional, linguistic, and multicultural competences of our staff. Data on outgoing mobility activities reported show that in most mobility categories we made significant use of, or reallocated, the available funding. In addition, the consistently high number of incoming mobilities year after year clearly demonstrates BME’s considerable international recognition, also reflected in the fact that among our Erasmus partner institutions are several higher education institutions ranked among the world’s best universities. Furthermore, the high incoming mobility numbers are driven by the wide range of English-taught courses offered at BME, which have gained significant popularity among international students over the years. From the autumn of 2023 onwards, a total of 1253 incoming exchange students pursued partial studies at BME during the project’s lifetime, in this period markedly exceeding the also substantial number of 686 outgoing students. In this part of the program, the first international networking event of the BME Erasmus Staff Week was also organized, which had a very positive impact on the visibility of the program both internally and among partners. So much so, that we are already planning the second edition for May 2026, involving more and more partners.
