Objectives

The objectives of the project were as follows: C.1. To increase the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in environmental and social activities, taking into account that many young people rarely have the opportunity to participate. C.2. To increase the proportion of young people who are aware of and interested in participating in these opportunities. C.3. To increase the skills, knowledge and willingness of young people to develop local-level activities that bring social and community benefits. In this reporting year, the aim was to implement three activities – the Youth for a Green Future youth exchange. Like a Tree: Youth for Green Future and Greencluded: your youth event greener training for youth workers. The primary aim of these was to raise young people’s awareness of the importance of environmental awareness and to encourage them to become active participants in environmental activities. Through these three initiatives, we encouraged participants to become advocates for sustainability in their communities and beyond. In the first phase of the project, young people from the partner countries participating in the Youth for a Green Future program came together, which provided an opportunity to create a common platform to discuss and solve environmental problems. Our goal was to make participants understand the urgent need to protect our planet and to be able to initiate changes in their own environment. We provided opportunities for young people to develop their communication and problem-solving skills, as well as deepen their environmental knowledge, through various workshops, discussion forums and practical activities. The main objectives were: - to promote an environmentally conscious attitude among young people who not only understand the urgent need to protect our planet, but also actively participate in meaningful activism. - equipping participants with the tools, knowledge and inspiration to make a positive impact in their own lives, in their communities and beyond. - empowering participants to become advocates for the environment, through collaborative workshops, insightful discussions and practical activities that also aim for relevant and tangible results. - encouraging participants to develop lasting relationships with like-minded peers, creating a supportive network of environmentally conscious young people The Greencluded programme focused on combining formal and non-formal education, where youth workers learned how to integrate environmental awareness into their own programmes and activities. Participants gained practical experience, such as through nature activities and art projects, which are important tools for environmental education. The training not only provided theoretical knowledge, but also an opportunity for youth workers to connect with nature and understand its complexity. The aim of this project was to: - within the framework of the program, youth workers will learn how to integrate environmental education into their work with young people, thus contributing to increasing the environmental awareness of young people. - as part of the training, participants will also carry out several projects directly related to nature, such as learning about the rehabilitation of local ecosystems and implementing waste-reduction art projects. - we encourage cooperation and networking among youth workers, which allows for the exchange of knowledge and experience between different local groups on environmental issues. - during the trainings, we develop the competencies of youth workers in environmentally conscious program planning, project management and community communication. Finally, youth workers from partner countries gathered for the training course Like a Tree: Youth for Green Future, held in Balatonszárszó, Hungary. Inspired by nature and rooted in sustainability, the programme provided a space for reflection, exchange, and action on how to create greener communities. Participants explored environmental challenges, shared local realities, and discovered creative, nature-based methods to integrate sustainability into their youth work. Through hikes, workshops, arts-based learning, and tree planting, they deepened their personal connection to nature and developed project ideas to carry their vision forward. The main objectives were: - to foster environmentally conscious mindsets among youth workers and empower them to inspire change. - to provide practical tools and creative methods for green youth work. - to strengthen advocacy skills through collaboration and experiential learning. - to build lasting networks rooted in shared values of sustainability and care for the planet. Another long-term goal of the project was to strengthen environmentally conscious youth communities that support each other in the fight for a sustainable future.
