Objectives

The project aimed to launch and strengthen a long-term strategic process that supports the professional development of Academy of Experience and its partner organisations, expands access to international youth mobility opportunities, and promotes social participation and equal opportunities for disadvantaged young people. The Erasmus+ accreditation framework provided the stability and flexibility needed to build on existing expertise while integrating new competencies and methods into the work of the organisation and its network. The project set out multiple, complementary objectives: Improving the quality of youth work: Enhancing the methodological toolkit, well-being and resilience of youth workers, and translating quality standards into practice. Particular focus was placed on trauma-informed approaches, violence prevention, safe learning environments and mental health support, enabling organisations to deliver higher quality, safer and more inclusive programmes. Strengthening outreach and inclusion of disadvantaged and highly vulnerable young people: The project sought to create pathways to international learning and community experiences for the hardest-to-reach youth. By preparing professionals and reinforcing the partner network, more youth workers gained the skills and tools to create safe, supportive and inclusive learning spaces for vulnerable target groups. Developing young people’s competences and supporting their active social participation: The youth exchange and training programmes helped participants improve intercultural, communication and problem-solving skills, build self-confidence and take greater responsibility in their communities. A key aim was to offer disadvantaged young people a first step into international learning opportunities, reducing risks of exclusion. Strengthening professional knowledge sharing and joint learning within the partnership network: The project facilitated the dissemination of Academy of Experience’s expertise – in experiential education, resilience building and youth work with vulnerable groups – among international partners. It also aimed to broaden knowledge on inclusion, safety, mental health and safeguarding, with several training sessions co-facilitated by partner organisations. Building international cooperation and preparing future projects: The contact-making seminar and joint mobilities aimed to establish new partnerships, exchange good practices and lay the groundwork for future Erasmus+ initiatives, particularly focusing on work with disadvantaged youth and supporting mental health in youth programmes. The ultimate goal of the project was to contribute to a more inclusive, safer and sustainable European youth sector, where both professionals and young people have stronger competences and wider opportunities, and where long-term collaboration among partners ensures that positive change continues to grow.
