The idea for the project came from the young people, as many of them had never encountered table tennis in person, having only seen it on television, and found it attractive to learn the game. Due to their disadvantaged situation, they had few sports and leisure opportunities, so one of the pillars of our application was to introduce table tennis and the recreational role of the sport. The other main direction was to promote a healthy lifestyle, which is gaining more and more importance these days. The active young people of our organization sought to gain a broader range of knowledge. During the first conversations, a general opinion emerged that many people would like to live healthier lives, but the costs of doing so are often unaffordable for them. During the project, we tried out activities that proved that a more conscious lifestyle is possible with little financial investment. The program also relied on proven methods adopted from partners. Thanks to good relations, we agreed with each other at the initial stage, and the partner organizations also consulted their own young people. This way, the initiative was based on the needs of young people and was implemented with their active participation. The aim of the exchange program was for the participants to become more aware, develop their skills and acquire abilities that will help them succeed in the future, as well as help them find a hobby or life goal. During the project, the young people got involved in a health-conscious lifestyle, broadened their horizons, gained new knowledge and built valuable relationships. The aim of the initiative was to increase their self-confidence, develop their competences and shape their worldview. This was not only beneficial for the participants, but also for the local community and the age group concerned. The project provided high school students with the opportunity to get acquainted with the world of table tennis through various workshops, thus promoting the connection between sport, recreation and a healthy lifestyle. As a result of the program, the number of those who became more open to new knowledge, healthy lifestyle, sports and social engagement increased. The young people learned how to represent their own and their community's interests, and how to utilize the knowledge they gained for the benefit of their own development and the environment. The participants achieved significant progress in the field of communication and self-expression, which helped them achieve their goals. We considered it important that everyone felt liberated while playing sports and that they were able to express their thoughts more boldly during conversations, recognize their strengths and learn in which situations it is worth communicating. By visiting the sports club and the experiences gained there, the participants came closer to the concept of recreation, understood its significance, and filled it with content with their own experiences. The project contributed to the acquisition of knowledge through practical and non-formal learning methods and was closely linked to the objectives of the Erasmus+ program. The young people could experience firsthand how what they learned in theory could be applied in practice, and they had the opportunity to try sports that they had not encountered before. As a result, they became braver and more confident, made their everyday lives more active, became more attentive to their environment, and were able to spread a health-conscious attitude. Through the program, they played a mediating role in their own community, facilitating the learning of others. By trying out the new sport, they pushed their own boundaries, expanded their knowledge, and developed their self-confidence in this area as well.
