Objectives

The "Connecting Generations: Empowering Young People to Foster Digital Inclusion" project aims to promote digital inclusion among young people through intergenerational learning and cooperation. The project's goal is to increase digital skills and literacy, and to facilitate active participation in society. The project enables young people to acquire new knowledge, develop practical skills, and gain experience in collaboration with older generations. The project also promotes the social inclusion of the elderly, who will benefit from the exchange of skills and knowledge between generations. The project contributes to the development of youth work practices through a model of intergenerational learning and cooperation, as well as training in digital skills. The dissemination of the project's results ensures that the project's impact extends beyond its duration, benefits a wider audience, and promotes the best practices of the project. The project has achieved three objectives. First and foremost, the development of digital competencies: The aim of the project is to develop digital competencies and to promote safe and responsible digital use by providing non-formal training for young people, who can use the learned information and methods to teach older individuals. Our second objective is to facilitate intergenerational cooperation: Through various activities and initiatives, the project aims to promote understanding and cooperation between different generations. Our third objective is to encourage community involvement: By involving local communities in the project, the aim is to foster a sense of shared responsibility and commitment to the issue of digital inclusion. During the implementation of the project, we also addressed critical social issues... and promoted important values such as social inclusion, community engagement, and lifelong learning. The project can also contribute to achieving European youth goals by promoting digital skills, intergenerational solidarity, and active citizenship. By participating in such projects, returning participants can contribute to the overarching objectives of the Erasmus+ program while having a significant impact on their local communities. As part of the project, we planned a 9-day mobility program that included various activities such as workshops, seminars, and presentations on digital literacy, online safety, and digital citizenship. Additionally, we organized cultural activities for participants to gain digital practice in different contexts. The participants were young people under 30 years old with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and skills related to digital technologies. Through participation in the project, participants gained not only immediate but also long-term benefits that contribute to their personal and professional development as well as strengthening European democratic values. The project contributed to participants' lifelong learning and personal development by enhancing their digital competencies alongside various skills and competencies such as self-awareness, motivation, problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration. Overall, the project's goal was to strengthen European values and a sense of Europeanness, promote active social engagement among young people, and contribute to the development of digital competencies. We successfully achieved our objectives, and the project had a significant positive impact on both participating youth and organizations.
