Objectives

We believed increasing contact with nature, improving our life standards, practicing sports, and being aware of the risk factors of a stressful life could help prevent health issues. The needs that came after the pandemic were evident: solitude, family issues, lack of socialization, and contact with outdoor space, are key for everyone's mental health, especially the youth. Our goal was to provide information and create activities and methodologies for youth workers to use during their activities with young people. Our main objectives were to give youth workers the possibility to learn and create a toolbox to be used with young people to improve their mental health with the aid of nature. Based on a 2022 Eurostat unfortunately 7 out of 100 people, suffer a form of clinical depression. Behind all these numbers people with dreams, hopes, family, and roles to play within society; then if we let these – many times inevitable - mental health crises define us, we did not do enough. That is why our association decided on this project because we believed prevention is better than cure. During the implementation of activities, the youth workers were actively involved, including: - Participating fully in all activities; - Supporting other participants by following the rules of accommodation and providing additional support. Engaging in communication and networking; - Evaluating the support provided to participants; We also involved the youth workers in the implementation of follow-up activities; -and encouraged other participants to carry out dissemination tasks as well.
