Objectives

In 2023, the Youth for the Nation Foundation and its three partner organizations, the Asociatia Vladeasa - Vigyázó Egyesület (Romania), the Sportsko utsinje Akademija Njerš Ištvan (Serbia) and the Ében Haézer Neinvesticny Fond (Slovakia), embarked on the project after a joint recognition . The motivation for the implementation was twofold: - on the one hand, the common experience is that it is increasingly difficult to reach and activate the target group of young people and the realization that the use of social media for this purpose is unavoidable. Domestic studies also support this, according to the fact that members of Generation Z spend 6.4-6.7 hours a day on weekdays, and up to 10-12 hours on weekends, a significant part of which time is spent using social platforms. they are best achieved on surfaces. Considering that many people can be reached widely and at low cost via the Internet, its effective use is particularly important not only for large organizations, but also for smaller, local organizations. - On the other hand, the project was motivated by the goal of providing training for both young people and professionals to filter out fake news and the dangers generated by online media. Nowadays, it is increasingly difficult to navigate the noise of the online world, to recognize fake news, phishers and fraudsters, especially for young people with less experience due to their age. These realizations spurred us to organize a seven-day training for the members/employees of civil organizations dealing with the media within the framework of the youth worker training program. During the training, we focused on the effective use of media, and on getting the participants to get to know the media surfaces and habits of their own target group as much as possible, so that they can reach them in a more targeted way. During the training, we also showed our youth helpers what to watch out for when surfing, what to teach young people, how to spot when someone is in trouble through the net, and how to help them. During the project, we also aimed to develop a small version of TikTok, which we recommend primarily to NGOs dealing with the youth field, who are still in their infancy on this platform, but want to exploit its potential. Our main goals were therefore the following: - knowledge expansion (development of media awareness, digital skills and competences) - reaching young people through the media - networking between organizations - wide dissemination in the online space
