Objectives

The goal of the project was to give socially disadvantaged young people the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone and get to know the cultural values of European countries by supporting DiscoverEU's equal opportunity application type. The goals of the learning process included that these young people, who have fewer opportunities and could not take advantage of the DiscoverEU opportunity due to their unfavorable financial background, gain experience in the field of travel organization with our support, have the opportunity to experience the cultural richness of Europe, develop their communication skills, and their knowledge of foreign languages , in addition to this, we use various digital tools and programs in the preparation of the trip, during the trip, in measuring the results, and in the reports after the trip, developing their skills in this direction as well. Our goal was that the young people could acquire the organizational skills during the preparation of the program: e.g. finding accommodation, making reservations, program planning, interpreting the schedule, taking out insurance, etc., which can also be useful in our later life. A successful trip should strengthen their self-confidence, expand their knowledge and be a lifetime experience for them. Although we have been dealing with young people for a long time, we have conducted several Erasmus+ exchanges, for our association the DiscoverEU equal opportunities application type was a new opportunity to gain experience and build relationships, which also enabled our organization to involve young people who until now could only participate in certain of our programs (mainly foreign exchanges) to a limited extent. In addition to all this, during the experience reports and experience-sharing occasions, this adventure also gave new energy to the young people involved in the various activities of the association, but who did not participate in the Discover EU program. In the follow-up phase, this kind of peer influence was very effective.
