Objectives

We planned two international student meetings, several online meetings and several other activities in cooperation on the selected theme. The first main theme was the city and its cultural heritage, the second was the re-shaping of the city's cultural heritage. In the first phase of the project, the students assessed and deepened their knowledge of the cultural and natural heritage around them, learning techniques to present it to their foreign partners. In the second phase of the project the aim was to engage the participating students with the new challenges of cities and the habits and expectations of young people using them. We planned to use creative writing, visual arts, digital content creation platforms to introduce and engage students with the themes of the ideal city, the city of the future, their city, the smart city and the idea of sustainability. A questionnaire survey was carried out. The students created thematic online maps of Keszthely and Campobasso and its surroundings. We planned an exhibition of students' photos, paintings and drawings. One of the most important products that we designed and implemented as a final product of the project was an online publication, Ebook.

Background

The project was designed and written with the aim to address the city, the theme of urban life, the changing perspectives of Italian and Hungarian students on the city and cultural heritage in a new and innovative environment and working methods. Our aim was to explore the understanding of urban life from the perspective of two different cultures, to work with young Europeans on new concepts such as sustainability and smart city. Throughout the project, we wanted to know how young people relate to cultural heritage and how they relate to it. We also wanted to introduce teachers to new and innovative ways of working and didactic tools. The theme of the project can be found in many places in the curricula of the two schools, but the collaboration between the two schools presents the theme in a new form and approach. An important aim of the partnership was to break out of the usual school rhythm, to gain new and useful experiences and new skills for teachers and studnets. It was also about sharing innovations and experiences.
