Objectives

To address these needs, the project's main objectives were to develop an innovative methodological educational program focused on making climate action relevant and relatable. We specifically sought to ensure that the younger generation not only understands climate change but also feels empowered and motivated to be an active, responsible participant in their region's transition. Through this, we aimed to instill a greater sense of responsibility and connection to the local area's future.

Background

The MINED ERASMUS+ project was driven by recognized needs within the mining regions of Europe: primarily, the necessity to rapidly increase climate awareness among the growing generation, while simultaneously addressing the socio-economic and cultural challenges posed by the coal phase-out. A critical need was also identified in the preservation of the unique mining cultural heritage.
