We were looking for new knowledge and professional development for staff in the Development and Support Unit, specifically in areas like inclusion, wellbeing and social mobility. We were looking to learn from different European educational organisations on how to enhance the supports provided to our students through networking and making connections. We also sought to seek new ways of working or implement new initiatives and new knowledge into our current roles.
As part of the FET Strategy, we identified participating on Erasmus + mobilities would inform our staff on good practices and get an understanding of approaches undertaken by European partners. Our Development and Quality team have not undertaken Erasmus opportunities previously as it is a newly established unit and we piloted Erasmus in this unit in the aim of exploring Erasmus in the broader FET arena of Tipperary ETB for other staff in different programmes and settings.
