By participating in this placement, students gained practical, hands-on experience in their respective fields, enhanced their technical skills, and developed a broader cultural and professional perspective, all of which are critical for their academic and career progression. Additionally, the project focused on developing further links between both institutions by having staff from different departments undertake a staff mobility in the use of ICT in classroom teaching.
Monaghan Institute is a Further Education Institution located in the North West of the Republic of Ireland and is part of Cavan and Monaghan ETB. This project aimed to facilitate a structured work placement abroad for ten students from the Engineering and Software Development programmes in companies in the Groningen , Netherlands. The project also aimed to strengthen educational links between staff from Monaghan Institute and Firda, focusing on exploring the use of ICT in classroom teaching.
