Objective 1 : This objective was incorporated in our Strategic Plan and was determined by considering the needs of the Young People in our region. Therefore, we were committed to working towards providing exciting, rewarding and potentially life-changing opportunities for young people. Being involved with Erasmus+ is a huge asset and is a gateway to participation. The funding available ensured that the opportunities were available to disadvantaged young people and those with fewer opportunities. Objective 2 : Donegal Youth Service has been involved with our National Agency for many years now and virtually all of our projects funded in the past have involved volunteers in some capacity. Volunteering is critical to the success of our organisation and we look forward to embracing project partnerships that will support the great volunteers we work with. Furthermore, since 2007 we have worked to embed volunteer projects into our work with over 30 EVS volunteers joining us in the years since, not to mention those who have gone overseas with our support. This approach is also evident in our strategic plans and with accreditation approved will be central to our focused European work going forward Objective 3 : Being involved in the Community and Voluntary sector youth work organisations often requires strong strategic partnerships to achieve desired goals. Often we are faced with challenging needs from the point of view of young people and we may not have the necessary resources or skill set to address. This is exactly why this objective is linked, as we plan and develop our partnerships to provide resources/opportunities or Intellectual Property for young people that would be beyond the reach of an organisation operating on a solo basis. Put simply we can achieve more together and thus create opportunities to more comprehensively achieve the desired outcomes in line with the National Outcomes Objective 4 : Donegal Youth Service is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. Governance and compliance are particular strengths or the organisation and are key in management and delivery of projects. The organisation is focused on ensuring that quality programme delivery is central and this involves ensuring that there are robust policies and procedures in place so that any additional project work is within the capacity of the organisation without losing any of the essential attributes of efficient and effective project delivery.
