We sought to strengthen youth action in advocacy at the national level by supporting a process of planning and skills development to enable a youth led planning group to engage in advocacy activity aimed eventually towards the European and local elections in 2024. This was to in turn strengthen the participative aspect of Youth Work Ireland's work in this field and provide a leadership group to continue this type of activity in the future. Objectives; To develop a planning and leadership group in the field of advocacy across a range of issues To enable the group to engage in a programme of work in the real world relating to advocacy and campaigning for the European and Local elections in 2024 To provide the necessary training and support To organize youth events as a part of this process and engage in a broader group of young people primarily (though not exclusively) from Youth Work Ireland member services To produce products such as manifestos, asks, hustings etc. as determined by the group
