Our objectives were: + Increase the importance to be paid to the empowerment of students, as a matter of life and individual skills, and of students’ well being overall. + Empower teachers in social and emotional learning, empowering of students’ individual life skills, as well as the ability to carry out TTRPG scenarios. + Test and promote TTRPG scenarios and methodology as upgraded school activities to recognise and support students’ discomfort. + Create material that can support the teachers when using role plays with their students: for example, the toolkit (material for the RPG) and the handbook (summary of our project, reflecting on our piloting phase and a guide to teachers).
As stated in our proposal there is a lots of evidence that young people need support about their mental well-being since the COVID pandemic and closure of schools. We wanted to support that school practices can ensure an adequate level of mental support to their students. This project addressed the negative outcomes of the pandemic on young students by developing an innovative and context-based Table-top Role-Play gaming (TTRPG) methodology in EU schools. This methodology used Role-Play as the main tool to develop plausible scenarios for the difficulties adolescents currently experience, by empowering their individual, social, and emotional skills.
