The Integrate project was created to encourage young people and migrants to become aware of critical thinking in order to increase their opportunities in new communities by identifying and effectively communicating the root causes of issues they may face. Through active citizenship and engagement with democratic processes in their new communities, the Integrate learning objectives were developed to encourage and support young migrants and youth workers. Therefore, in order to meet the primary objective partners identified six learning objectives: 1. Promote critical thinking skills and capabilities of young people, in relation to global justice and identity; 2. Foster empathy and compassion in society; 3. Increase knowledge of European culture and identity; 4. Develop the job readiness skills of young people and migrants; 5. Promote responsible and active global citizenship. Furthermore, the resources developed in line with the above objectives, aimed to equip learners with the capacity to express their concerns in a constructive way through innovative methods and constructive dialogue using the activities developed in WP3 and using the card game in WP4.
The Integrate project was designed to enhance the social participation and economic opportunities for young people by promoting inclusive communities based on the principles of justice, solidarity and human rights. The project aimed to provide a sustainable framework for advancing the integration of migrants across EU. Additionally, the Integrate project was reflecting the needs that emerged by war in Ukraine. As at the time of writing, it was estimated that more than 8.1 million Ukrainians - equivalent to approximately 20% of the national population, had been displaced all over Europe including countries of the Integrate partners. The project aimed to support those affected in partner countries through the provision of new training opportunities. Ultimately, the project objective was to support youth, youth workers and migrants, on their journey to meaningful integration in their new communities while utilising Global Citizenship Education (GCE) values that empowers them to advocate for their needs, from social and cultural to economic and educational through to active citizenship. The Integrate project sought to promote the well-being of young migrants, preserving their dignity through mutual respect and community engagement
