The Erasmus+ KA131 project at the University of Akureyri (UNAK) for the 2023–2025 period marked a significant expansion in international mobility activities. A total of 50 mobilities were successfully completed, encompassing student mobilities for studies and traineeships, as well as staff mobilities for teaching and training. The project demonstrated UNAK’s commitment to fostering international cooperation, inclusion, and academic development. UNAK achieved a 33% increase in budget compared to the previous year, reflecting its growing capacity and ambition. Participants represented a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, education, law, nursing, and management. The university maintained strong partnerships with institutions in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Latvia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Poland, the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal. Notably, Norway was the most frequent destination, reflecting deep institutional ties. UNAK prioritized inclusion and accessibility, with several participants receiving top-up grants and support for short-term blended mobility. The university also made strides in digitalization, using the Erasmus Dashboard and Online Learning Agreements, though technical challenges persisted. The project aligned with UNAK’s strategic goals of enhancing teaching quality, promoting intercultural exchange, and supporting students with fewer opportunities. It also contributed to broader European objectives in sustainability, digital transition, and democratic engagement.
