The University of Iceland actively participates in the Erasmus+ KA131 projects every year, sending both students and staff abroad and welcoming participants from partner institutions. Therefore this action and project are essential to the internationalisation of the university and in providing students and staff at the university with opportunities for international experiences as the majority of mobile students going from the university go through the Erasmus+ programme and receive financial support through it. The principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education are not only important to the organisation of mobilities at the university, but they remain as guiding principles for other international activities at the university, for example through our focus on inclusion for all participants, the digitalisation of mobility processes, and transparency and fairness in the treatment of applications and grants.
