Our project aimed to foster cultural exchange, skill-sharing, and collaboration among feminist and music empowerment organizations across different countries. The primary objectives were to build cross-cultural connections, promote inclusivity in music education, and provide immersive learning experiences for staff and volunteers. Through this project, we sought to strengthen international partnerships, share best practices, and empower our teams to enhance social impact within their communities. 1. Poland Exchange: A team from Iceland visited Fundacia Autonomia in Krakow to explore feminist approaches and creative skills through workshops, collaborative sessions, and hands-on activities. This visit included mutual learning through workshops in music, crafts, and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for future projects. 2. Iceland-Togo Collaboration: Mirlinda Kuakuvi of Girls Rock Camp Togo visited Iceland, where she led workshops on Togolese dance and rhythm, enriching our Icelandic team’s understanding of African music and culture. The schedule provided insights into Iceland’s music scene and fostered deep ties between Icelandic and Togolese volunteers. 3. Nordic Volunteer Training Weekend: Held in Helsinki, this training brought together Nordic organizations to strengthen volunteer capabilities in music education, inclusivity, and mental health. Topics included safeguarding, sound fundamentals, and feminist approaches to music, culminating in planning for future Nordic projects. 4. Finnish Participants’ Camp in Iceland: Finnish participants from Särö joined a camp in Iceland to experience roles within the camp structure, enabling them to shape user experiences for both participants and organizers. This experience concluded with a showcase concert and participant feedback session, encouraging reflection on the camp’s impact and areas for improvement.
