Objectives

First of all, we want to get to know other young people who are interested in youth democracy and want to influence the environment in which we young people live. The aim of the project is to get the young people to go for some kind of navel examination in their municipality, to familiarize themselves with what is available, to acquire the skills to be able to communicate this information in English. the sub-goal of the project is for the young people to have fun, to learn what other countries are doing well at the level of youth councils and what we can improve on for the future. another sub-goal is that young people get to know other young people who have similar interests as them and make connections in other countries. The purpose of the project is to summarize what services the municipality offers for children and young people aged 13-18 and to examine the differences between the services offered in each country and what effect it might have on young people in that municipality. This is preparatory work for a consultation meeting that will be held during the trip, where the Irish group and the Icelandic group will sit down and discuss the methods and services offered by the municipality. The results will then be worked out together after the trip and presented to the local authorities. The goal is achieved when the young people have finished collecting information, presented it in an understandable way, presented the information to the other group, discussed what the main differences are between the countries, compiled the information and presented it to the leaders of each municipality. The project is primarily based on youth democracy, consultation with children and young people in decision-making in matters that concern them.
