With this project, students were provided with targeted and professionalising skills in the subject areas, in order to increase their chances of employment; on the other hand, there was a desire to improve the training of teachers in the use of digital tools, languages and the treatment of sensitive topics such as inclusiveness and sustainability. Finally, there was a desire to address them in the area of counselling and guidance to reduce the dropout rate.
The Institute is located in a difficult socio-economic and cultural context, with low education and employability rates. This malaise negatively affects the students' approach to education, who not only see no need to study, but also do not believe that their future can be different. The Institute wanted to support the improvement of the school-individual relationship and give students more opportunities through the ‘NEXT’ project, which is part of this mission.
