The project objectives were: improving language skills especially in a working setting, practicing professional skills, having a direct experience of an international environment, enhancing students’ self confidence and problem solving, especially for students with special needs. Cities and communities for the internships have been selected in order to show students new approaches to sustainable tourism, work and daily life.
ITCG Fermi is a secondary school with different curricula. This application was conceived for Tourism and International relations, for 3rd and 4th years (short) and 4th and 5th years (long mobilities). It has taken into special account students with fewer opportunities (low cultural and economic background and special needs). The project aimed at providing work internships because (VET) is a core issue, as stated by PTOF (pp. 144-157), as many students start working immediately after diploma.
