A) Teach young people aged 14 to 18, from different national, cultural, social and economic backgrounds to: 1) overcome their differences and avoid exclusion processes. 2) develop skills enabling them to create caring and supportive relational links between themselves and with others. 3) Broaden their cultural horizons and change their limited or biased representation of the world through the discovery of a foreign country, its culture and its customs. B) Allow professionals to: 1) Share skills and know-how including new digital technologies, 2) build a common educational engineering integrating several levels of professional skills articulated between them. C) Build and develop internationalization strategies to develop ATHENA Pathways in the EU. 1) by seeking new partnerships 2) By implementing the skills and innovations acquired in this project to apply them in other national contexts. 3) By facilitating contacts and exchanges to enable more young people of all ages in the EU to benefit from ATHENA stays.
The project partners started from the observation that although the history, geography, socio-economic and cultural characteristics and dynamics were very different between the city of Saint Denis and the Western Canavèse, these two territories had converging tendencies leading to precariousness, impoverishment, intergenerational fractures, segregation, in short a set of phenomena whose effects young people, between 11 and 30 years old, are violently affected by. Effects that translate into a negative representation of the world and pessimism pushing them towards individualism, anxiety about an impossible future happiness and a withdrawal into oneself that triggers defense/aggression mechanisms towards an environment perceived as hostile. We responded to the needs of 2 groups of young people aged 14 to 18, French and Italian, to modify their representations and attitudes to help them design optimistic alternatives based on the rediscovery of their relational and socio-affective potential (travel and participation in a common work) and their creative potential (the creation of an individual work of art that is integrated into a collective work).
