In line with the priorities “Environment and Climate Action” and “Adapting VET to Labour Market Needs,” the project pursues the following GENERAL OBJECTIVES: a) to transfer real environmental sustainability challenges from high-impact production contexts into VET to integrate the School-Business supply chain and align demand and supply. It develops green skills in teachers and learners, innovates curricula according to labour market needs, and introduces sustainability as a standalone or interdisciplinary subject, with work- and problem-based programs designed and tested based on real scenarios; b) for the priority “Inclusion and Diversity,” GS4VET develops learner-centered inclusive learning methods aimed at motivating vulnerable students, those with low performance, cultural/linguistic barriers, or at risk of dropping out. The SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES correspond to the implemented Work Packages: WP2 fosters dialogue between VET and businesses to familiarize with concrete sustainability issues; WP3 and WP4 develop and validate for transferability, respectively, inclusive mono-sectoral and inter/cross-sectoral educational programs based on innovative and engaging approaches such as work/problem-based learning and the Flipped Classroom.
The GS4VET project was created to bridge the gap between the VET system and the production world regarding Green Skills, within the context of European and national priorities set by the Green Deal, the 2030 Agenda, the Paris Declaration, and the Recovery Plan. High environmental impact sectors were selected (Agriculture, Mechanical, Textile-Fashion, Logistics-Transport), tasked with addressing concrete sustainability challenges by transferring environmental issues from the business to the educational context. The proposal promotes synergies between the VET system and the economic fabric to integrate the school-business supply chain, facilitating the transfer of real cases and supporting the adaptation of training offers to sustainability priorities. The project develops and experiments with interdisciplinary programs to introduce curricula focused on green skills at mono-sectoral and inter/cross-sectoral levels, adopting work-based learning and innovative methodologies such as the Flipped Classroom. These new VET curricula, integrating sustainability as a standalone or transversal subject, are designed to train students and teachers prepared to consciously drive the Green Transition, supporting European and national objectives.
