Objectives

The Erasmus+ project of the “O. Respighi” Conservatory of Music in Latina aims to broaden the educational horizon of the institution and its members, fostering deeper integration into European and international society. Participation in mobility programmes for students, teachers, and administrative staff is not only an opportunity for individual growth but also a strategic investment designed to generate lasting benefits for the entire academic community. Through the ongoing professional development of teachers and the enhancement of students’ knowledge and skills, the Conservatory seeks to improve learning performance, particularly in foreign languages, in the use of digital technologies, and in the ability to adapt to diverse professional contexts. Direct contact with other European educational and cultural environments fosters a stronger sense of initiative, empowerment, and self-confidence, encouraging participants to develop broader perspectives and enhanced problem-solving abilities in multicultural contexts. The Erasmus+ experience strengthens intercultural awareness—an essential element for those working in the field of music, a discipline inherently rooted in cultural dialogue. Exchanges with partner institutions foster the creation of a modern and dynamic study and work environment, integrating innovative teaching methods, artistic experimentation, and interdisciplinary projects. The internationalisation of the Conservatory of Latina also results in improved interaction and operational capacity at European and international levels, promoting artistic collaborations, masterclasses, concert productions, and joint research initiatives. A key aspect of the project is its focus on people with fewer opportunities: mobility is conceived as a tool for inclusion, capable of breaking down economic, social, or geographical barriers. Offering everyone the chance to engage with an international context makes the principle of equal opportunities a tangible reality and reinforces the sense of belonging to Europe. In this framework, particular emphasis is placed on personalised support, organisational flexibility, and tailored training to ensure that every participant can fully benefit from the experience. The project also aims to encourage a critical and creative approach to one’s educational and professional journey, promoting the acquisition of transversal skills such as time management, teamwork, intercultural communication, and adaptability to ever-changing contexts. These qualities are essential for anyone wishing to work successfully in the international artistic scene, characterised by global professional networks and a constant exchange of ideas and influences. The main goal of the Conservatory’s Erasmus+ initiative is therefore twofold: on the one hand, to refine teaching practices through methodological updating and the exchange of best practices; on the other, to facilitate students’ entry into the labour market by providing them with stronger artistic, linguistic, and technological skills that can be applied in a global context. In doing so, the Conservatory contributes not only to the individual growth of its members but also to the creation of an academic community that is more open, aware, and ready to face the challenges of the future.
