As established in the EPS: “The Arrigo Boito Conservatory of Music (CMAB) promotes an international relations policy aimed at developing openness, understanding and exchange between different cultures, in Europe and around the world; supports every initiative that can promote the human, educational and professional growth of the people who study and work there, thanks to the belief that music is a universal language which allows for profound communication between individuals and society". CMAB actively participates in the KA 1 actions and in two different consortia in order to offer to its students and staff the largest number of mobility opportunities. General objectives: improvement of academic, linguistic, cultural skills and personal and social opportunities for all participants. Specific objectives: For students: to broaden and deepen their learning opportunities; For teachers: to raise the quality of teaching by comparing teaching methods, and promoting the exchange and update of contents; For non-academic staff: to foster the exchange of good practices and cooperation between partners; For the institution: to consolidate and develop an international mentality, a stimulus for dialogue and an improvement at an institutional and systemic level. The project has allowed for every possible SM and ST action (in and out, Blended Intensive Programmes, short mobility), ensuring a maximization of the impact on the institution and on the participants. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN a. Outgoing activities. Following the inter-institutional agreements signed, mostly online, and the calls approved and published, the selection of candidates (students-staff) has followed a documented, transparent, fair, inclusive, meritocratic, non-discriminatory process. Before the mobility, the participants were supported with their linguistic and logistical preparation, and monitoring actions were undertaken during the mobility. At the end of the mobility, the participants were recognized in terms of working hours (staff), credits and grades (students) and were fully reintegrated into academic life. Following the strategy of the past years, in which the pivotal element was the creation of a network of shared knowledge and expertise, most of our training mobilities are aimed to develop this network, to look for new partners and to discover innovative teaching methods. b. Incoming activities for the staff have been developed with the goal of exchanging good practices (in teaching and management), of creating new projects and welcoming teachers to the important Ear training international meeting SENTIAMOCI A PARMA. c. Students: all applicants were evaluated by our departments; before the mobility they received information from the international office on the good planning of the mobility and supported by our Tutor for the definition of the Learning Agreement; during the mobility they were supported and monitored by the International Relations Office, by the Secretariat and by the Tutor; at the end of the mobility, they received a transcript of their records and a certificate of the mobility and their reports were analized. Outgoing students: before departure Learning agreements are set as well as documents for financial issues: during mobility they are supported by offices: at the end of mobililty start grade recognition and it is given the balance of scholarship. d. Teachers: The proposals were examined by our departments with a dual objective: the integration of the teaching programs with skills not currently present in the institution and the inclusion of teachers in research projects. The Conservatorio has not hosted BIP in the call 2023 (but will host 5 in next years), and groups of students participated to 2 BIPs and 3 Short mobility projects. IMPACT AND RESULTS ACHIEVED In general: An improvement of linguistic, personal, social and cultural skills for all participants. In particular: - For students: The deepening of knowledge through the seminars held by the teachers; short mobilities are highly appreciated. - For teachers: The raising of the qualitative level of teaching, through the comparison of teaching methods, the exchange and update of contents; - For non-academic staff: Exchange of working methods, cooperation between partners; - For the institution: the seminars of incoming teachers have expanded the training offer thanks to their inclusion in research projects; the dialogue with different academic realities has led to more awareness of our limits and strengths. LONG-TERM BENEFITS Thanks to the Erasmus Program a profound change of mentality has been developing, which sees internationalization as a structural added value of a modern Musical Higher Education Institution in terms of raising academic quality (implementation of courses, cooperation between Institutions) and "opening mind" at every level of the Conservatory (personnel, teachers, students) and the social life of the city.
