The University of Gastronomic Sciences implemented the Erasmus+ project with the strategic goal of strengthening its internationalization process and providing new educational and professional opportunities for its students, teaching staff, and administrative personnel. The project was designed as a tool to enhance the quality of education, improve internal competencies, foster exchange with academic and professional institutions across Europe, and contribute to the establishment of a strong and lasting international network. The mobility activities included in the project targeted three main groups: teaching staff, administrative staff, and second-year Master's students. Each type of mobility was designed with specific and complementary objectives, in line with the University’s broader vision of offering an integrated, interdisciplinary, and globally oriented education. Teaching Staff Mobility Through the mobility of teaching staff, the University aimed to encourage the exchange of knowledge and teaching practices with other European higher education institutions. Participating lecturers had the opportunity to deliver lectures at partner universities, engage with diverse pedagogical approaches, deepen shared topics of interest, and initiate academic and scientific collaborations. This experience not only enriched the professional background of the participants, but also contributed to enhancing the quality of teaching at our University through the transfer of skills and knowledge acquired abroad. Furthermore, the relationships developed with European colleagues laid the groundwork for future joint teaching or research initiatives. Administrative Staff Mobility (Training) The participation of technical and administrative staff in training mobility was a valuable opportunity to develop professional and linguistic skills, and to learn about best practices in management and administration adopted by other institutions. Staff members took part in training courses, job shadowing experiences, and networking activities, with a positive impact on the efficiency and quality of services provided within the University. This experience also helped to foster a stronger sense of connection with the wider European higher education community and promoted a culture of collaboration and innovation internally. Student Traineeship Mobility (Second-Year Master's Students) The mobility of second-year Master's students for traineeships abroad was a key element of the project. This activity aimed to complement academic learning with hands-on experience in international professional settings. Students had the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained during their studies, develop essential soft skills such as teamwork, adaptability, intercultural communication, and problem-solving, and explore possible career paths. The internships significantly enhanced their employability at the European and global level, allowing them to gain valuable insight into the international job market. Cross-cutting Goals and Expected Impact Beyond the specific goals related to each mobility type, the Erasmus+ project was implemented to: * Promote a culture of mobility and international openness within the University. * Encourage multilingualism and intercultural competencies. * Integrate European values into academic programs. * Foster the development of key competences for lifelong learning. * Build strong and long-term partnerships with academic and professional institutions across Europe. By carrying out this project, the University of Gastronomic Sciences has consolidated its role at the European level as a center of excellence in education related to gastronomy, promoting a holistic, sustainable, and international approach to food, agriculture, and food culture. Participation in the Erasmus+ Programme has further strengthened the University's ability to respond to global challenges and to equip its students and staff with the tools and skills needed to act in an increasingly interconnected world.
