Università Iuav di Venezia is a leading European and global university in the fields of architecture, design, fashion, visual arts, urban planning, and theatre. Since its foundation in 1926, Iuav has combined a rich tradition with a strong commitment to constant innovation, placing the design process at the core of its educational experience. In this context, the Green_Train Consortium fits perfectly, combining Iuav’s expertise with that of its partners: Venice Academy of Fine Arts, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Free University of Bozen, University of Sassari (as sending Higher Education Institutions); and Eurosportello Veneto and ESU Venezia (as member organizations active in the labour market and education). The project's objectives were both specific and general. The first specific objective was to increase student and recent graduate participation in the Erasmus+ Programme through "sustainable traineeships." The focus was primarily on Europe, aiming not only for professional development but also for participants' growth into European citizens more aware of the importance of sustainability in its environmental, economic, and social aspects. The second specific objective was to build and strengthen a "green network" of host organizations committed to sustainability. This network, established in previous project editions, includes non-profit organizations, small and medium-sized enterprises, museums, and institutions active in culture, performing arts, and fashion. The general objective was to contribute to the measures outlined in the European Green Deal. By offering young people professional training in high-profile institutions that already support the sustainable development of the European economy, Green_Train directly helps to achieve this broader goal. As for the quantitative objectives, the Consortium successfully exceeded the expected number of mobilities stated in the grant agreement: we supported 108 traineeships, surpassing the approved target of 94.
