Objectives

Considering their common qualification as special-order university institutes, the Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca, the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna share a specific and additional regulatory framework of reference compared to generalist universities (see, for example, the ANVUR accreditation system, specific to special-order schools) and therefore have an interest, also in the placement field, in sharing experiences and best practices and developing programmes that enhance the potential of an education based on high quality standards. By participating in the 2023 edition of the Erasmus+ Programme, the Consortium wished to continue pursuing the line it has been pursuing since the beginning of the 2021-27 Programme. As in previous editions, the privileged mobility is student mobility: the three Schools have always encouraged their students to spend training periods abroad with a view to fostering professional growth and promoting the sharing of European and international values. The Erasmus+ 2023 project has concretely expanded the opportunities for mobility abroad, making them more accessible and flexible, thanks also to the possibility for the Schools belonging to the Consortium to support more mobility. The Erasmus+ project in Consortium between the three Schools also aims to further consolidate relations between the institutions involved, which each year publish calls for proposals to organise mobility activities under the Erasmus+ programme. The aim is to continue to ensure a shared calendar, with a consortium call in the spring and a second call, managed by each School with its own Erasmus funds, in the autumn. This scheme allows students to plan their mobility well in advance and favours the receipt of more coherent and practically feasible applications. Particularly appreciated by students was the confirmation of the possibility of mobility to non-EU countries as well, thus broadening the horizons of the educational experiences offered. Participation in the Consortium plays an important role in strengthening administrative procedures and student support, thanks to the continuous exchange of information and best practices between the Erasmus and International Relations offices of the three Schools. The institutions intend to continue implementing these collaborations, with the aim of constant improvement and more efficient management of any problems The Consortium within the three institutions is the main source of funding for Traineeship mobilities, which is the preferred modality for the students of the three institutions, given the constraints and peculiarities in the management of Erasmus Studio for High Schools. Compared to the previous seven-year period, mobility has increased in number and this has also had a driving effect on the mobility of the individual institutions. In particular, the possibility of scheduling the release of the Calls for Proposals, thanks to the dual funding method (as an individual institution and as a Consortium), allows students to plan their mobility periods effectively. The Consortium is therefore a pillar in the mobility strategy of the individual institutions and will certainly be renewed in the next seven-year period.
