Objectives

The starting point of the University’s internationalization strategy is the European Union, within which the main policies for educational development and design, scientific and technological innovation, and cooperation with governmental bodies will be defined. Building on this foundation, the University will extend its focus towards an extra-EU internationalization strategy that combines quality, opportunity, and integration. A key driver of this process will be the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme, both for student and staff mobility, with the goal of attracting talented students through collaborations with leading international universities. The Polytechnic will play an active role as a pilot institution in the experimentation of the European Degree initiative recently proposed by the European Commission. The starting point will be the University’s extensive experience in double-degree agreements, followed by the development of joint programmes. This process is further strengthened by strong engagement in international networks and alliances such as Unite!, which brings together nine partner universities already collaborating on similar experimental initiatives. Comprehensive support is provided to initiatives that foster the adoption of emerging technologies, innovative pedagogical approaches, and forward-looking practices in higher education. These efforts aim to equip students with the professional expertise and entrepreneurial mindset required in an increasingly globalized labor market. At the same time, the University is committed to cultivating active citizenship and reinforcing European principles, encouraging deeper understanding of identity, human rights, democracy, and shared values. PoliTo equally prioritizes the development of partnerships beyond Europe, recognizing their importance in advancing international cooperation and creating meaningful connections between European institutions and academic communities worldwide.
