In line with its internationalisation policies and the goals set in the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), The University of Sassari (UNISS), supports and implements the international mobility, with the aim to: • facilitate the acquisition of sector-specific skills; improve participants’ language skills, enrich the students’ professional and personal profile and improve their employment prospective. • enhance staff mobility experiences, with the goal to facilitate exchange of good practices and transfer of knowledge in specific disciplinary fields; support the acquisition of new, innovative learning practices and teaching methods and improve the overall quality of teaching. • Reinforce the internationalisation process within the institution. In accordance with the European priorities of the Erasmus+ program, UNISS is fully engaged in removing the obstacles which might hinder students with fewer opportunities from taking part in the Program and therefore allocates the dedicated top-up amount to all entitled students, encourages short-term and blended mobilities as well as the participation in Blended Intensive programmes. In order to increase the mobility flows and to make the opportunities offered by the Erasmus Programme widely available to a larger number of students and staff, UNISS has also developed a well-structured system of support measures, intended to ensure the quality of mobility experiences abroad. The management and organisation of mobility actions and the related services involve the university at different levels: the University Erasmus Committee, chaired by the Rector's Delegates, that defines, in cooperation with the Mobility and International Relations Office, the guidelines for the implementation of all mobility programmes and the departments' Erasmus Committees, that manage international mobility at departmental level and involve the Erasmus Delegates and administrative staff and the student tutor Ambassadors. Such a system has not only contributed to improve the promotion of the Programme and enhanced the Erasmus experiences within the institution, but it has also ensured targeted assistance and guidance before the mobility, especially in supporting the preparation of the Learning Agreement, as well as during and after the mobility, with reference to the procedures for credits’ recognition and registration carried out by dedicated staff. Other qualitative goals are also pursued through specific academic and financial supportive measures: UNISS provides additional financial awards to students who attain the best outcomes abroad, during a study mobility, on a credit/month ratio. Most departments also provide for the award of 1-to-2 points to increase the graduation mark to students who have successfully completed their mobility experience. UNISS also encourages outgoing mobility to third countries not associated to the programme, with the purpose to expand its international network and increase the opportunities offered to both students and staff. This measure has also contributed to promote significant synergies between the KA131 and other Erasmus actions, such as the KA171.
