Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore undertook this ERASMUS+ KA131 project Call 2023 with the clear ambition of advancing its internationalisation strategy in alignment with the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) 2021-2027. At the heart of this initiative was a commitment to enhancing the quality and safety of mobility experiences for students and staff, while fostering deeper cooperation with academic institutions across Europe and beyond. To achieve this, the university focused on two key pillars: the digital transformation of administrative and academic processes, and the strengthening of international partnerships. These efforts aimed to make mobility more accessible, efficient, and impactful for all participants. Special attention was given to employability and the development of intercultural competencies, recognizing their growing importance in a globalized academic and professional landscape. The project also prioritized the full academic recognition of international experiences, ensuring that students' time abroad would be meaningfully integrated into their academic journeys. This was supported by internal guidelines and quality assurance mechanisms designed to engage even the less active faculties in the internationalisation process. Looking ahead, the university set ambitious goals for the next four years: a 30% increase in student mobility, a 20% rise in staff mobility, a 50% growth in cooperation projects, and a 15% expansion in the number of international agreements. These targets reflect a broader institutional vision-one that sees international mobility not just as a logistical exercise, but as a transformative experience that enriches individuals, strengthens academic communities, and contributes to a more connected and inclusive European Higher Education Area.
