Objectives

The National Academy of Dance (AND), through the implementation of the project, has promoted a policy of mobility, exchanges, and international projects with the aim of improving, expanding, and updating its training, research, and artistic production activities, in view of fostering the development of a more active and aware European citizenship, in full compliance with all the principles set out in the ECHE and in the Institution’s “European Policy Statement,” while taking into account the priorities and guidelines of European programming. For these reasons, and in order to ensure intelligently sustainable and inclusive growth for both its students and its staff, the Institution considered it necessary to expand its workforce and hire a dedicated administrative unit, with the qualification of administrative officer (internationalization and communication profile), to manage Erasmus activities and support the Institution’s Erasmus Coordinators. To disseminate all information relating to the program, and more specifically to mobility calls, it was deemed necessary to update the Institution’s website with regard to both outgoing and incoming mobility (the latter being entirely in English). In fact, in the “incoming” section, specific documents relating to the “Bologna Process” and the “Grading System” were uploaded, together with the study plans of the Schools. Furthermore, the “Regulations for Erasmus Mobility, Activities, and International Relations of AND” were revised, in which the terms and conditions for the recognition of activities carried out abroad are detailed. These activities have been, and continue to be, recorded transparently in the student’s academic record and in the Diploma Supplement. The policies relating to international relations, which have primarily included long-term study and internship (postgraduate) mobility, and for the first time also “short mobilities” (again for recent graduates), laid the groundwork for the development of many other initiatives, including: multilateral projects for curriculum development, research, artistic production, modernization of higher education, and the development of students’ future career opportunities. Moreover, AND has been included in the “World Dance Education Alliance” (WDEA), which brings together nearly 70 institutions from 38 countries across five continents. All Erasmus mobility grants were awarded in full compliance with the Erasmus program guidelines, respecting the principle of transparency and the sharing of educational objectives. Particular attention was devoted to students with fewer opportunities, who were guaranteed adequate financial support to foster full social inclusion; this support was further increased thanks to additional contributions from the Institution and from the Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR).
