Objectives

Since 1951, SSML Carlo Bo has been committed to strengthening the linguistic and professional skills of its students, offering high-quality training in the field of linguistic mediation. Its main goal is to prepare qualified translators and interpreters, ready to work in both the public and private sectors. The school has always placed great importance on international experience, considering it an essential element for students who wish to pursue careers involving the communication and translation of languages and cultures. Through the implementation of this project, SSML Carlo Bo aimed to enrich students’ education by enhancing their linguistic and professional skills through international experiences that promote both personal and academic growth. In particular, the project sought to provide students with the opportunity to: •Broaden their global outlook while developing key transversal skills such as communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and resilience. •Strengthen their ability to adapt and take on responsibilities in diverse cultural and professional contexts. •Gain hands-on experience in environments relevant to their studies, contributing to their development as more complete and self-aware professionals. At the same time, the project included the participation of a teacher in a mobility programme for training and teaching, with the aim of updating teaching methodologies and expanding her pedagogical skills in order to enhance both teaching quality and the school’s overall educational offer. Another key objective of the project was to welcome and support an incoming student, who had the opportunity to undertake a learning experience within our institution. In addition to fostering the student’s cultural and academic integration, this experience also helped improve the teaching practices of our lecturers, who—by working with a foreign student in class—were able to enrich their educational approach, develop greater sensitivity to cultural diversity, and adopt more inclusive and effective teaching methods.
