The project aimed to involve a large number of students willing to carry out a mobility abroad, even for a minimum period of time, at one of the universities or partner institutions in Europe. Mobility for traineeship is strongly sponsored and encouraged as it provides, even if carried out during the first years of study, an excellent opportunity to get acquainted, fully or partially, with the mechanisms of the world of work. The project was directed to the higher education institutions, such as universities, with the main objective to increase professional and linguistic skills of the beneficiaries. Taking a closer look at the modern world from the work or multicultural perspective, one can easily notice that it becomes more and more competitive nowadays and that is why it is extremely important to support and develop the student resources. In total, there were 47 student participants. We consider this number to be positive, taking into account the fact that UNIFG and Molise only have selected students and sent them abroad. The traineeships offered by the project, in particular, focused on the development of the potential knowledge workers by means of online and onsite traineeships generally lasting 2 or 3 months, aiming to: 1) Create a perfect combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. 2) Introduce innovative work methodologies to the beneficiaries, strengthening their CVs and making them more competitive. 3) Provide an opportunity to transfer the acquired knowledge to the beneficiaries’ countries of origin in order to improve the regional economy development. 4) Ensure the recognition of the acquired competences and completed training courses utilizing such documents as Transcript of Records and Learning Agreement (Before and After Mobility Sections). The traineeships were carried out in different European countries like Ireland, Spain, Poland, Hungary, and covered a wide range of professional sectors. The beneficiaries were entitled to the same opportunities and the same support before, during and after their mobility experience in the information, motivation, validation and recognition of the traineeship (free choice credits, Elective Didactic Activities, curricular extra-curricular traineeships witnessing high participation rates of medical students). The next strong side of the project was represented by the integrated and synergistic network of the international partnerships. The participants could take into consideration not only the receiving organizations or institutions selected on the basis of the proven reliability demonstrated in past experiences but also to propose some organizations that suited to their professional needs themselves. The project has fully achieved its main objective: to provide the beneficiaries with the practical skills in the field of their interest, complementing the university education received up to that moment, and to improve their linguistic knowledge. To sum it up, both sides of the project were satisfied with their experience: the beneficiaries were content with the quality of the carried out traineeships, and the receiving organizations – with the theoretical knowledge of their trainees. In particular, the mobility experience helped to each trainee to become more confident about their abilities and to increase their awareness of professionalism, which has contributed to the development of the European citizenship culture. The project has witnessed the active participation of numerous medical students; the importance of practical training in hospitals or clinics abroad is undeniable. The participants experienced their full involvement at the hospital facilities abroad and, consequently, acquired some better and greater valorization of themselves and of their potential and abilities. Many receiving organizations have already been tested by the students carrying out their mobility for study purposes; the excellent relationships that have been created allowed to the students with the mobility for traineeship to strengthen these synergies.
