In the 2023–2026 Strategic Plan of the University, one line of action is dedicated to the internationalization process, to be achieved also through the internationalization of student careers (Study and Traineeship) and by promoting the mobility of teaching and technical-administrative staff, whose role is essential both to strengthen existing networks and to expand agreements, making the support to the internationalization processes more efficient. In order to promote and increase student mobility, the International Mobility Office has defined a few actions in terms of communication and support to applications designed to involve and stimulate students to participate. The International Mobility Office has organized InfoDays aimed at gradually introducing the most significant and qualifying aspects of the study/traineeship experience abroad, followed by more specific events to assist students through the various deadlines (and procedures), so that they would appear simpler and, above all, spaced out over time. The initiatives are carried out in coordination with other key actors involved in the international mobility processes, first and foremost the University Erasmus Coordinator, the Erasmus Committee, and the Erasmus Representatives present in each study programme, with whom a solid and active collaboration network has been established to constantly contribute to the improvement of student support and assistance. In terms of communication with students, the goal of the initiatives is to trigger a greater degree of awareness and autonomy in planning their Erasmus mobility period, conveying the importance of this formative opportunity not only for their academic path but also for their entry into the job market, as increasingly verified by feedback and evaluations from organizations and companies. The communication strategy aims to engage students through social media channels and InfoDays, and to maximize participation, also by giving students the opportunity to participate in the events through streaming. A constant objective – still in order to promote engagement – is the simplification and streamlining of procedures and calls for applications and the dissemination of information about the support services offered by the University, including in the field of inclusion. The maximization of the recognition of ECTS credits obtained during mobility remains a priority, pursued through ongoing dialogue with the Erasmus Representatives of Departments, Representatives of Study Programmes and Student Offices. The implementation of Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) has been identified as a priority, and a specific training path (Cineca) has been scheduled to facilitate its correct (and initially complex) management. In addition, increased participation of staff from the International Mobility Office in Staff Weeks has been planned in order to promote UniUrb as an attractive university for Incoming students and international Partners. Confirmed initiatives – already well established – include support to students in the various phases of mobility management, up to academic recognition, and inclusion support. Furthermore, the international mobility office, thanks to the collaboration with the Erasmus Student network association, actively works on various projects and organizes a range of activities specifically designed to support, engage, and integrate Incoming students throughout their stay, ensuring they receive adequate assistance, cultural orientation, and opportunities for social involvement. Confirmed also the offer of Italian language skills development courses specifically targeted for Incoming students, aimed at facilitating their integration and enhancing their academic experience. In addition, the University Language Centre (CLA) continues providing a free service designed for certifying students’ language proficiency levels, ensuring that all Incoming students have access to official recognition of their Italian language abilities, which supports both their academic progress and daily life in the local community.” Still with a view to increasing the level of internationalization within the University, there is an ongoing commitment to promoting Staff and Teaching mobilities. Administrative functions are of uttermost importance, particularly in the areas of Teaching and Student Services, to support and promote internationalization processes. Also confirmed and relaunched is the University participation in the UniMed and UniAdrion consortia, particularly through the increase of the exchanges and the offer of support for Incoming participants at the central office and departmental levels. Another goal is the constant revision of the International section of the website (Erasmus+ Incoming – Outgoing – Calls for Applications), using simpler and more concise language, in FAQ format, always with the aim of increasing engagement and providing quick answers to the most common questions.
