Objectives

Internationalization is confirmed as a structural a funding aspect for NABA. The Erasmus+ programs play a key role both in the approach and strategy of an educational model without geographical or cultural restraints. Throughout the 2023 project the Academy has confirmed its presence and participation at international level, both participating in international fairs and playing an active role within the New European Bauhaus, Cumulus and ELIA frames. In November 2024 NABA hosted ELIA Biennale in the Milan campus, strengthening pre-existing Erasmus+ relationships and contributing to the extending collaboration network. All these levels keep intertwining boosting the international opportunities and dimension of the academy. Mobility is one of the most strategic tools to broaden students' learning perspective, leading to innovative project results enriched by a multicultural approach and build a research and cooperation network. The Academic Coordination - International Exchange Office worked closely to the Academic Departments, ensuring the quality and processes of all the activities, organized in compliance with the Erasmus Charter, the Agreements and the EPS defined by the Academy. The goal is the promotion of an international educational model, under the aegis of the principles of inclusion, innovation, multiculturalism in compliance with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations, which are increasingly nurturing the staff processes, the life in campus and didactic approaches. NABA educational offer grows, not only expanding the Rome campus, but also with attention to the development of curricula delivered in Italian and English, reflected in a student population with increasingly marked international origin (around 40% and 70 nationalities). The current project represented a new opportunity of consolidating the mobility processes and recent best practices partners network, international opportunities and taking advantage of the KA131 action to boost other level of international cooperation (e.g. KA2 projects and doctoral level mobilities). The new opportunities offered within the KA1 action in terms of short mobilities and blended intensive programs, demonstrated their extreme closeness and effectiveness with regards to the Academy approach and are now them well consolidated in the offer. The ECTS system guarantees transparency in the definition of the study plan and in the recognition of the path, connecting different national education systems. Internally, a strong effort has been made in improving documentation and communication towards transparency both for incoming and outgoing students, with particular regards for assessment criteria, validation process and inclusive support.
